Bring It Back

With the help of Sarah Jessica Parker (and other influencers), Fendi is bringing back the ‘it girl’ bag: its baguette.

The baguette bag was a staple accessory during the late 90’s and early 2000’s. I remember the Sex & the City episode where Carrie Bradshaw was robbed of her Fendi bag and Manolo’s and her infamous line to the robber, “It’s not a bag, it’s a baguette”. It just made you want it, lol!

Now, Fendi is looking to make friends in the younger generation. The baguette bag has lasted longer than your typical fashion cycle and appeals to all which is a testament of its design. It comes in a variety of textiles and patterns that gives consumer options! That’s always gonna make you wanna buy more.

“The Baguette today has a new identity. Because the Baguette is like a best friend that never leaves your side, it changes as the times change, taking on new identities and expressions, but they all embody the Fendi DNA. The oversize Baguette is truly an all day bag that can be worn cross-body, or over the shoulder, or tucked under your arm, which is relevant to the new generation of Baguette lovers, and the collectors alike”, says Silvia Venturini Fendi, the Creative Director of Fendi and designer of the iconic bag.

No one will ever forget about the baguette, but now it’s up to Fendi to still keep us on our toes. Would you splurge?
